The Newcomer Program is designed for the first-year immigrant students who are at the beginning level of English proficiency. Students will acquire English as a Second Language through an intensive, focused, and systematic instruction designed to build the foundation of English vocabulary, grammar, and syntax that will help them get to the intermediate, advanced, and advanced high level. Students will have opportunities to listen, speak, read, and write with increasing complexity. They will acquire both the social and academic language as well as the necessary learning strategies to ensure their success.
