Our Children Are Our Future
Course Objective:
English I classes are designed with high expectations for every student. These classes require a high level of commitment from each and every student. The fall semester of this course encompasses a study of the short story, poetry, mythology and Greek literature, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and various unit projects. Thorough reading and writing is imperative for success in this class. Noncompletion of assignments or poor attendance is likely to result in failure of this course.
Late Work:
Students who are absent must submit their make-up work according to DISD policy. Students who miss class because of a student trip should make up all work before they leave. If this is not possible, they must make prior arrangements and complete the work within two days of returning to class.
