First Grade
Welcome to Ms. Williams' Webpage
Welcome to our class webpage! My name is Madeline Williams and I team teach with Ms. Fierro-Ogilvie. Your child will spend half the day with me and half the day with Ms. Fierro-Ogilvie. I teach Math, Science, and Social Studies. While in my class your child will spend approximately 1 ½ hours working on Math concepts and 45 minutes on Science and Social Studies. I will send home a Peek at the Week in the Monday folder every week outlining the events of the week. It is imperative that you read through this newsletter so that you can stay informed. Many questions that you will have this year are answered in this valuable communication. Speaking if communication, I value communication between school and home and vice versa. I invite you to email or call me should you have any questions or information you would like to share. I will, in turn, respond at my earliest convenience which may be after school if my conference time has already passed for the day. Please be patient! If you have an emergency, please call the front office and ask them to help you.
Rules
Every class needs rules to run smoothly. If we just ask our self one simple question, school rules can be reduced to just one rule-- "How would I like to be treated in a similar situation." Because children have a hard time with this question I have endeavored spell them out more concretely. 1. Be in your assigned place! Sometimes this means at your desk, other times it is on the tile doing calendar, and still other times it is in a small group working on a project. 2. Be ready to Learn! This means have what you need for the class. Every child needs a Pencil, paper (usually the teacher provides it), crayons, Daily Work Folder and homework. 3. Keep Hands and Feet and Objects to yourself! Don't touch other people or their things. 4. Be Respectful! 5. Follow Directions!
