Congratulations on making it to the last semester of your high school career.

Our first unit will be Seeking Answers. In it we will learn about Theatre of the Absurd. Then we will move on to Looking Inward. We will examine ourselves by analyzing poetry together, and as individuals, you will choose a novel to analyze for your research project. Our next unit is Seizing Power. We will read Macbeth, Lord of the Flies, and 1984. We will end with Finding Self where we will read selected short stories and Catcher in the Rye. We will also create Senioritis, a film created by you, the students.

The AP exam occurs this semester and those of you, who plan on taking it, need to plan on taking a practice test.

The grades will be averaged on the following percentages.
Writing and Tests and Presentations 60 %
Quizzes, Vocabulary, Dialectical Notebooks, Homework, etc. 30%
Midterms, Major Projects 10%

Tutorials will be from 2:30 until 3:15 on Tuesday. I will be in Extended Learning Opportunity on Mondays and Thursdays from 2:45 till 4:45. My conference period is 4th. I may also be found in Lighted Windows if you need further assistance.

We are going to have a successful learning experience this semester.
